Exceptional 18th century French Silk Hanging, c. 1760, Late Louis XV. Originally part of a bed set usually hanging at the head of the bed, silk lampas brocade, lace or dentelle design. Late Louis XV. Possibly manufactured in the UK, Spitalfields. A cream satin background with lace design having large flowering bouquets with pomegranate decoration. Pastel colors associated with a great technicality of silk weaving, very fine and tight. Unbleached hemp lining and mounting of small brass rings, original mounting of the eighteenth century. Exceptional condition of color and conservation.
